Smokeball

Integrating Connect with Smokeball will allow you to:

  • Search your Smokeball contacts from Connect.
  • See contact information for incoming calls.
  • Log call records against matters in Smokeball.

Before setting up your integration

To log your calls against matters in Smokeball, we need a Smokeball staff ID for each activity.

If the email addresses you use to log in to Connect and Smokeball are different, we won’t be able to find your staff ID and cannot log your activities.

If you're having trouble with the Smokeball integration, make sure these email addresses match, and try disconnecting and reconnecting the integration as outlined below.

If needed, we can set a default staff ID for your organisation as a fallback. To do this, please give your account manager the email address of the Smokeball user you want to use.

Integrate Connect with Smokeball

Each user who wants to use Smokeball with Connect will need to perform these steps to authorise the integration.

1. Log in to Connect, then click the Apps icon in the menu.

2. Click Connect Smokeball.

3. Enter your Smokeball account details then click sign in to authorise the link between Connect and Smokeball.

4. Once the integration is successfully authorised, you'll be redirected back to Connect.

5. If you ever need to remove the integration, you'll find a Disconnect button in the Apps page in Connect.

Searching for contacts

Searching for a contact by name or phone number will search your contacts in Smokeball.

1. Click the "Search or dial..." field.

2. Enter a name to search for a contact.

Click the call icons to place a call using Connect.

Call screen popping

When you receive an incoming call, Connect will search your Smokeball contacts for a matching number. If it finds one, it will show your contact's name in the notification and call history.

Activity logging

When a call finishes, Connect will create a task associated with the corresponding matter. For this to work, you need to select a matter while you're in a call.

1. Connect will search for matters related to the contact you're on a call with.

Select the corresponding matter from the list (you can type to filter if there are lots of matters in the list), and when the call ends a task will automatically be added to the matter.

If you're not seeing the correct matter in the list:

  • check that the number the contact is calling from is correctly entered into their record in Smokeball, and that the contact is associated with the matter
  • make sure the email addresses you use to log in to Connect and Smokeball are the same.
